Phone Lease vs. Purchase

Departments can lease phones owned by the university from Texas A&M Division of Information Technology. Departments do not need to spend capital to purchase phone equipment. Leasing phones gives departments more flexibility, since leased equipment can be turned in for another model or the lease can be terminated if business needs change.

Lease payments cover more than use of the equipment. The Division of IT takes care of warranty repairs and handles all repair work even after the warranty expires. For purchased phones, the department must handle arrangements for repairs during and after warranty.
