IMS Classroom Computer Software Maintenance Scheduled for May 10-18

Published: May 8, 2012

Instructional Media Services (IMS) classroom computer reimaging will take place on Thursday, May 10, followed by testing of all reimaged computers. The entire process will be completed on May 18. IMS classroom computers will be fully operational for summer courses.

If you have a May-mester class in any of the classrooms affected by this process, please notify IMS to reserve a laptop until the reimaging is completed. Visit the IMS website for a list of classrooms.

Reimaging, the process of removing and reinstalling all software on a computer, is needed to keep software updated and to install security patches. IMS computers are reimaged three times a year (May, August and December/January).

Please contact the IMS Media Center in your area if you have any questions.

Instructional Media Services, a department of Texas A&M Information Technology, provides, supports and maintains multimedia equipment for classrooms and other locations on the Texas A&M University campus.
