Instructional Technology Services (ITS), a department of Texas A&M Information Technology, will discontinue the WordPress-powered Blogs @ TAMU blogging service on Tuesday, July 31.
After a thorough analysis, ITS has determined that the low usage by university customers does not justify the administrative costs and resources necessary to maintain the service. ITS will provide technical support for Blogs @ TAMU until the service is discontinued.
View help documentation on ITS Docs about best practices for transferring a blog out of Blogs @ TAMU; how to export a WordPress blog; and a list of alternative blogging services. In addition, ITS will store archived content from Blogs @ TAMU for one year, which will be made available to non-student customers upon request.
ITS does not guarantee archived content for customers beyond the discontinuation date. Therefore, ITS strongly encourages customers to export content before Tuesday, July 31. ITS will discard archived content from Blogs @ TAMU on July 31, 2013, one year after the discontinuation.
