Project Purpose

The campus is transitioning to Voice-over-IP (VoIP), which let users make phone calls over the Internet by converting analog audio signals into digital data. Conversion to VoIP is necessary because legacy phone systems currently being used are no longer manufactured, and support is becoming a greater issue. Broadsoft was chosen to provide a carrier-grade VoIP system. The cost of the conversion and budget limitations require the migration to occur over several years.

VoIP will be installed in new buildings, existing buildings undergoing renovation and buildings with legacy systems that no longer meet occupant needs.

In addition to replacing legacy systems, the VoIP system will provide enterprise-wide capabilities and ample room for future expansion.
