Texas A&M Division of Information Technology's Business Relationship Management (BRM) team is dedicated to ensuring our users get the highest value possible from our services.

The mission of BRM at the Division of IT is to:

  • Improve the flow of information between the Division of IT and our partners.
  • Increase our users' ability to easily gain access to services and supporting information.
  • Transition our organization from commodity broker to strategic partner.
  • Offer improved visibility among the Division of IT leaders to stimulate ideas and conversation, identify user needs and opportunities, and shape the IT service offering to meet user demand.
  • Renew the reputation of the Division of IT.

Service Details

The role of BRM is to provide the following services:

  • Meet routinely with each organizational unit (IT Organization/College/Division/Institution/Agency) and participate in information gathering/sharing activities.
  • Gain knowledge from partners on their needs, projects, and vision. Share the information within the Division of IT organization and appropriate external communication channels.
  • Develop and maintain a "Customer Value Hierarchy" for each partner.
  • Create business cases for potential projects or initiatives in partnership with and on behalf of partners.
  • Coordinate or support inter-organizational negotiations for contracts.
  • Route professional requests for new or changed services to the appropriate functional group.
  • Lead, develop and support future Service Level Objectives for selected services.
  • Support IT Governance on campus through interaction with various committees.
  • Develop and support the Service Portfolio process

A discipline and a role within an organization developed from the ITIL Framework to stimulate, surface and shape business demand for a provider's products and services and ensure that the potential business value from those products and services is captured, optimized and communicated.
