New Student Conference Brochure

About

Tech is essential to student success at A&M. It can also be a very daunting area for most students to understand. The objective of this brochure was to inform and prepare new students of what services they have access to, understand how to find them, and know who to contact if they have questions.

The theme of this brochure was inspired by “Cyberpunk,” a popular video game with our target audience. Much like in a video game, students are taken on a journey through a new world (in this case, Texas A&M University). There are different levels in which the students equip themselves (Gear Up, Heads Up, Level Up). Common gamer jargon and images were used to share extra information.

Content Background

Most students don’t understand what the Division of IT is or what services are provided by our division. Our goal was to promote technology services and increase awareness for students. A challenge we faced was budget and bandwidth. Traditionally, we distribute these brochures in person at New Student Conferences. This year, we paid a lot of extra money to ship the brochure directly to new students’ houses due to COVID. Information about services had also been in a period of constant change due to COVID and creating accurate content was challenging.
