Virtual Private Network (VPN)

There are some resources, including websites or files, that you can only access on campus. VPN allows you to connect securely and be "on campus" from anywhere by providing the same level of access to resources as being directly connected to the campus network.

Texas A&M Health has a separate VPN from the Texas A&M University network. To access the Texas A&M Health VPN on either Windows or macOS, follow the instructions for connecting through the Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect).

Note: To ensure computing and networking resources are available to as many people as possible, please disconnect from VPN once you complete activities that require VPN. Please also limit use of VPN to activities that are absolutely necessary to leave more capacity for other users.

Call Forwarding and Voicemail

A solution has been developed to deploy softphones, which provides the ability for your office phone to work via software on a computer. Options are available to forward your work telephone number to your personal phone number and check your voicemails online. View VoIP Phone help documentation for more details.

Note: You must first connect through the Texas A&M Health VPN to access the Cisco VoIP phone systems MyPhone and Voicemail if you are not on campus. To access the Texas A&M Health VPN on either Windows or macOS, follow the instructions for connecting through the Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect).

Zoom Videoconferencing

Zoom allows you to have online meetings with anyone who has an Internet connection—including mobile users. You will be connected via audio and/or video and can share content from your computer, which lets you see the same things at the same time, such as PowerPoint files, Word documents or even browse the web together. Within the meeting as a host, you can transfer control so any attendee can lead the meeting and share.

You have two options for Zoom audio: use the microphone/speaker included with your computer or the mobile app for your phone, tablet or Apple Watch. To view your computer's available speakers and microphones, refer to the Zoom Videoconferencing webpage. Get started using Zoom at tamu.zoom.us.
