Roles and Collaborations

• Budgets are reconciled and closed after Sponsored Research Services receives and processes the required financial information
• The Principal Investigator (PI) prepares the final technical report, based on sponsor requirements, and submits it to Sponsored Research Services
• The research team prepares and distributes research results and provides a copy of its findings to SRS

Planning and Next Steps

• Closeout must adhere to sponsor requirements and university policies, which can involve research dissemination, publication guidelines and records- and data-retention standards
• Send all final, required documentation to the sponsor no later than 90 days after research activities have concluded

• Submit the final technical report to the sponsor
• Prepare for data egress from computing and electronic storage systems
• Report financial and accounting information
• Report any property and equipment acquired during the project
• Report inventions to Technology Commercialization
• Ensure compliance with both records- and data-retention requirements
