According to Shah Smith & Associates, the 21st century classroom is a $74 million project that is expected to be open in 2020. It will have multiple classrooms and will include the Center for Teaching Excellence, Instructional Media Services, Instructional Technology Services and collaboration spaces. This modern classroom facility is designed to encourage active learning through innovative technology. The 360 degree classroom arenas will allow professors to webcast live, record and broadcast their lectures, and interact with students through distance learning.
