Tech Apps for Travel

Traveling this summer? Here are a few apps to have on your smartphone while you’re on the go.

  1. Google Photos

No matter what adventure you have planned, having your device backed up is always necessary. Though your smartphone might be running backup systems such as iCloud or Dropbox, Google Photos allows unlimited storage and can prevent your memories from getting lost should you lose your device on vacation.

  1. Feedly

If you‘re looking to pass the time while you reach your destination, Feedly is available on both Android and iOS. Feedly easily consolidates your favorite tech news outlets into one feed, making it more accessible to catch up on all things tech with a single scroll. Want to take a break from reading? Feedly will also incorporate content from Twitter and YouTube based on your feed to introduce you to new topics and individuals with similar interests.

  1. Wi-Fi Map

Need to post a quick photo on Instagram? Don’t worry, Wi-Fi Map is the most useful app for finding open Wi-Fi networks available near you. The app will even go as far as identifying the names of each network and its speed, and uses built-in GPS navigation to get you within range of the connection.
