New HDC website

Help Desk Central is always ready to help! The new Help Desk Central website puts in-demand tech solutions front and center, and the user-friendly redesign makes getting assistance quicker and easier than ever.

Jana McDonald, Assistant Director for the help desk, says the new website will provide campus members a more streamlined way to view Help Desk Central’s services and get the help they need.

“We want to make it easier for students, faculty and staff to find the tech help they need,” says McDonald. “Visitors can search our knowledge base for answers to their questions or decide to chat with us live, send an email, give us a call or schedule an in-person visit.” 

A few of the website’s easy-to-access features include:

  • Action Icons: Site visitors can quickly get help by clicking “Call,” “Chat” or “Visit” to go directly to the service they need.
  • How-To Articles: A list of the most-requested knowledge base articles is dynamically displayed. 
  • IT Alerts: IT Alerts are prominently featured and an easy way to check if a campus service is down or experiencing problems. 
  • Updated Hours: While most Help Desk Central services are available 24/7, service changes and availability are always posted on the front page of the website.
