12thmancan

Texas A&M Technology Services participated in a canned food drive to support the student-run organization, 12th Can, which supports students, faculty and staff who may not be able to afford meals.

This was Technology Services’ second year participating in the drive and support from our employees significantly surpassed our goals. Donations totaled 442 pounds of food that will be matched in dollars by Technology Services’ leadership team. Technology Services’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion group originally came up with this idea to make a positive impact on campus. This year, the Vice President and CIO agreed to match every pound of food donated with one dollar to double the impact on the campus community.

“It is truly inspirational how employees of Technology Services were able to come together and utilize their resources to go beyond their job descriptions and give back,” said Michael Phillips, who facilitated the drive. “I am honored to be a part of this great effort. This is a place that not only supports the technology needs of our campus but also engages in philanthropic efforts to positively impact our University. Together, we are making a difference!”

Next year, Technology Services hopes to reach a new goal of collecting over 500 pounds of food. If your company is looking for ways to give back to the local Aggie community, reach out to 12th Can and start donating today!
