Improvement Graphic

Texas A&M Technology Services is implementing continuous improvement efforts in 2025. These initiatives focus on enhanced communication, faster IT support, and better access to essential campus resources. These initiatives stem directly from student, faculty, and staff feedback from the Fall 2024 campus survey.

“Continuous improvement isn’t just about internal efficiency—it’s about creating a better tech experience for the entire campus,” said Stacy Sáenz, IT Product Manager. “We’re taking action based on direct feedback to improve IT communication, response times, and access to essential services. I’m incredibly proud of the team for making it happen.”

Five IT Upgrades for 2025

1. Better Campus Printing Access for Students

Finding a printer shouldn’t be a hassle. Technology Services hopes to make it easier for students to locate available printers by integrating AggiePrint stations into campus maps and improving visibility through the AggiePrint website. IT teams will also analyze usage data to relocate underused printers and ensure high-demand areas have better access.

2. Faster IT Request Resolution

Are you waiting for tech support? A new initiative will identify priority help or service requests and implement strategies to reduce response times for those tickets.

3. Stronger Communication with Campus Leaders

Technology Services is improving engagement with deans, vice presidents, and IT governance committees through structured updates and strategic communication. The goal is ensuring university decision-makers have the IT insights to support faculty, staff, and students.

4. Smarter Privilege Escalation for Campus Devices

Managing administrative tasks on university-owned computers is becoming easier and safer. The university will expand the Admin By Request and Jamf tools, allowing faculty and staff to handle approved administrative tasks securely. Awareness campaigns will help them understand how to use these features while maintaining cybersecurity best practices.

5. Clearer IT Outage & Service Alerts

Want to know when an IT service is down? A new IT Alerts system will send more straightforward, targeted notifications based on user relevance.

What’s Next?

These improvements will be implemented throughout 2025. Each initiative is designed to create a more efficient, connected, and tech-friendly campus environment that responds directly to Aggies' needs. Do you have an idea for IT continuous improvement? Send it to us at tamu-it-coms@tamu.edu
