Overview

Respondus 4.0 is a tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, and other learning systems. You can create exams directly within Respondus, import existing exams from word processor files, or pull content from publisher test banks.

We provide a university-wide site license for Respondus, which is available at no cost for instructors. Visit the Texas A&M Software Store to download Respondus at no cost. Note: The software licensing expires annually and must be updated.

Texas A&M has also enabled Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor in Canvas for proctoring online exams.

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that students install on their device for taking an exam within Canvas. Respondus LockDown Browser locks down the testing environment during the administering of an exam to prevent the student from accessing online resources or printing of exam questions.

Respondus Monitor builds upon Respondus LockDown Browser adding a proctoring level by using a student’s webcam and video analytics to prevent cheating during exams.
