Overview

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides secure access to an organization's private network by utilizing a public network infrastructure, such as the campus network. Networking and Information Security provides a VPN Service for secure connections to the Texas A&M campus network.

Departments may set up a departmental VPN server as long as any machine connecting to a departmental VPN server remains on the local subnet. If a machine needs to access campus resources outside of the local subnet over VPN, you must use the campus VPN service.

Getting Started

If you would like to set up a departmental VPN server, email consult@tamu.edu with your request.
