Overview

Please note: In order to ban and prevent the download or use of prohibited technologies on any state issued device, Texas A&M  now requires that all state-issued cell phones, laptops, tablets, desktop computers, and other devices capable of internet connectivity are managed through Technology Services.

As such, all cellular devices brokered through Telecom (Excluding hot spots/ MiFi devices) will need to be properly managed by Technology Services before we can send the devices directly to the customer.  Please contact your local IT professional to guide you through the new brokerage process. If you do not know who your IT professional is, please contact the help desk at 979.845.8300 for guidance.

Your local IT pro will work with you together with Telecom to fill out the order form and guide you both through the process.

Cell phones are available for university business through various vendors. Contracts with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile provide discounted rates for phones used by the university. National and international plans are also available.

Bills are provided directly to Texas A&M Technology Services through vendor agreements. Calls are then itemized and added to the appropriate Telecommunications Service bill. Under this service, each department is responsible for purchasing their own cell phones. Phones can be ordered through Technology Services.

To avoid high roaming charges when using mobile devices when traveling in another country, add international plans for calling or data to existing departmental cellular devices or rent an international phone for the duration of an employee's trip. Contact 979.845.8300 to assist you in finding the right solution before you travel.
